Why Social Media Is So Important For Your Business During A Pandemic or Any Challenging Times

With the recent Covid-19 Pandemic, new strains being found, lock-downs, curfews and an unpredictable stock market, you might be feeling a little insecure about where your small business might be headed financially.

So what do you do with marketing and social media? The first thing you DON’T do is stop marketing. That means you should really be stepping up your social media game. It is the most inexpensive way to keep your brand out there. You should also take this time to engage more with your audience on all your social platforms.

Business may slump some but if you are making a point to continue to engage with your customers and potential customers, you are way ahead of the game when the economy starts to come back. Stay the course and continue to be true to your brand, products and services.

Here are a few things you need to be doing:

  1. Clean up your bios, blogs and reassess your strategy.
  2. Work with your social media team or management company to see what you can do to keep the ball rolling and still be relatable to your audience.
  3. Run contests or giveaways. Invite your customers to visit your storefront for giveaways and events. (Like a socially distanced hot chocolate evening.)
  4. Have a social media “get to know us” blitz. Feature yourself and staff so your customers can get to know everyone better. Everyone loves a look “behind the scenes”.
  5. Ask your followers how they are handling things during this uncertain time. Let them know you care about them.

These are just a few ways to keep your brand in the forefront of your followers minds. Hard times will soon give way to better times. Be ready for that!
